There’s a distinctly new look to Prestwich Local Area Partnership, which holds its first meeting of the year on Thursday January 21.
Firstly, the LAP will welcome Rose De as its new manager. She takes over from Carran O’Grady, who moves to Rose’s former position as manager of Whitefield LAP.
And there is a new Partnership Spot, so that LAP partners such as Churches Together, Simister Village Community Association, Jewish Representative Council, NHS Bury, TRACC and others can have a quick five minutes to talk about what they do and raise any concerns they may have.
The meeting starts at 6.30pm at Sedgley Park Primary School in Bishops Road, Prestwich.
A busy agenda includes details of the proposed Local Road Safety Scheme for Heywood Road, and reports from the police and the Area Tasking Team.
Also on the agenda will be an update on the council’s winter gritting arrangements over the recent cold snap.
Councillor Vic D’Albert, chair of Prestwich LAP, said: “Since before Christmas the demands on gritting have been at critical level due to a severe winter. With more severe weather predicted we want to inform local residents about the gritting policy, what’s happening in Prestwich during this bad spell and how the policy will see this winter out. Myself and other councillors have received many questions about gritting at this time so being able to answer these questions and giving good safety tips would be very worthwhile.”
There will also be a 45-minute open forum, starting at 7.30pm, when the public can ask questions.
