Following reports in the press, local people in Prestwich are worried about the future of the Longfield Suite in the heart of Prestwich. Bury Council is reviewing its “civic hall” and both Prestwich and Radcliffe community facilities seem threatened with closure.
The Longfield Suite is OUR community faclity. Its one of the largest community rooms in the area and is booked all year round for functions, social activities, dancing and more. Only last year local people had their say about the future of Prestwich Village - people said loud and clear that the retention of the suite should be at part of the future re-design.
