I was very disappointed to come to work this week and receive calls about a graffiti attack around Whittaker Lane and outside Prestwich Library, I’m sure that you are too. If anyone reading this email can accurately give me a time over the weekend that they can say these crimes may have been committed then this will help with CCTV checks.

We will not be deterred in a LovePrestwich Anti Litter and Graffiti campaign and we continue to tackle this problem head on.

Our Community Payback scheme to clean off graffiti continues.

Please, as responsible Prestwich citizens, if you see anyone daubing graffiti and/or carrying aerosol type paint sprayers who obviously look suspicious then:
- phone the police
- take a description of the person/s
- record a date and time
if in the event it is in the town centre, Bury New Rd, Bury Old Rd, and it is under the nose of CCTV call the control room 253 6607 so they can, if they have the time, direct the cameras to record the offence. The graffiti will be removed.

Like most Prestwich residents, I am heartily sick and tired of the constant graffiti in the area, but would like to applaud the excellent efforts of Community Payback in trying to improve matters. Much appreciated and please don’t let the hooligans spoil the local environment! It is disheartening to see fresh graffiti appear, but the sooner the unsightly mess disappears, the less incentive there is for more to be added.
